Confidential Energy Company

Houston, Texas

Ziegler Cooper Architects provided design services for a large, independent commodity trading company located in Houston’s Central Business District. After an initial 4,000 square foot renovation in 2006, the project team redesigned and expanded the client’s space another 16,000 square feet. The office includes open trading areas, video conferencing, boardroom, training room and locker/shower facilities.

An inviting reception area with an adjacent lounge allows for prospective employee interviews or small private meetings. A wave pattern applied to textured glass is used to symbolize the fluid movement of oil for this energy trading firm. The same wave was duplicated on the traders desks, floor transitions, carpet design, and ceiling reveals to create a cohesive design theme.
