New Corporate Headquarters for Quanex Building Products Reflects Mission of Efficiency and Sustainability

Ziegler Cooper Architects is pleased to announce the completion of a 20,317 square foot, corporate headquarters relocation of Quanex Building Products to 1800 West Loop South. A leading supplier of energy-efficient window, door systems and coiled sheet aluminum, Quanex Building Products is committed to conducting business in an environmentally responsible and proactive manner, as evidenced by the recent LEED certification of the new office design. With a primary goal to improve efficiency and collaboration, the design team worked closely with Quanex to transition them from a largely closed office plan to entirely 100% open.

The use of glass panels on workstations and floor to ceiling glass in key areas allows natural light to penetrate the space. The design provides several types of collaborative work areas as well as private phone rooms to create a balance between the new open work environment and privacy.

“Quanex Building Products is committed to sustainability in their manufacturing and products. They wanted that same commitment reflected in their new office design. The incorporation of water efficient plumbing fixtures, efficient lighting fixtures, recycled materials and maximizing day lighting were key design solutions to achieving LEED certification. The new headquarters will continue the company’s commitment to not only the environment, but their staff as well, says the Senior Interior Designer, Donna Arcangeli, IIDA, LEED AP, a Senior Associate with Ziegler Cooper Architects.
