Skanska, an international construction and project development group headquartered in New York City, NY, contracted Ziegler Cooper to provide design services for the new construction of their Houston office on Level 9 of 3009 Post Oak, after relocating from 1776 Yorktown. The recently completed 3009 Post Oak is a 20-story, 302,000 s.f., Class A, pre-certified LEED Platinum office building. The 15,076 s.f. office space, in Houston’s Galleria area, includes specialty workrooms, a board room, wellness room and an 125-seat multipurpose room. Skanska’s overarching design goal was to transition their office from a closed plan to an open concept workspace, with low panels and benching features. Their office space is now 94% open plan and 6% closed, with 44 workstations and three private offices. The Level 9 design is striving for LEED Platinum CI v.2009 certification.
