Who We Are
Since our founding in 1977, Ziegler Cooper has been guided by our strong belief that beautiful architecture enriches people’s lives, uplifts the human spirit, and provides a constant vision of excellence. To support this belief, we have structured our practice into four specialized internal studios to serve mankind’s most basic needs to live, learn, work, and worship. Within this structure, each studio is led by a Principal of the firm, whose passion lies in their particular area of expertise and is supported by a team of talented professionals that are equally dedicated.
Within these practice areas, the firm fosters collaboration and innovation to create beautiful buildings that are inspirational, highly functional, and sustainable, resulting in extremely valuable assets for their owners. We care deeply about our clients and work hard to help them succeed. Today, we find our practice is perfectly positioned to provide our clients with the expertise they need for a competitive edge. With demographics migrating back to more dense urban areas, we find our future bright, as we reshape the landscape of the markets we serve by creating a more richly designed urban fabric of healthy building environments.
Ziegler Cooper has emerged as one of the premier architecture firms responding to the demand for urban residential living. We embrace sustainable growth strategies, such as walkable mixed-use urban villages that combat the failures of suburban sprawl and bring back urban living to the inner city. Over the last twenty years, the firm has played a momentous role in the revitalization and urbanization of major US cities.
History has taught us that a city’s greatness is measured, in large part, by the quality of its art, architecture, and urban environment; thus, before us lies an enormous opportunity to meet this challenge. To date, Ziegler Cooper has master planned, designed, and constructed multi-family apartments, lofts, high-rise condominiums, and high rise apartments, totaling over 18 million square feet throughout the United States.
The firm also remains dedicated to assisting our corporate clients with facility planning and design services, including corporate interior relocations and/or renovations; specializing in the workplace design of accounting, consulting, financial services, insurance, energy, engineering, and law projects. Ziegler Cooper provides landlord representation services for over 110 buildings with more than 42 million square feet of tenant space throughout the City of Houston.
Our commercial office group and corporate facility group has become recognized as a cutting edge design studio and thought leader for corporate campus office parks and build to suit projects. With Texas leading the nation in job growth for the past 18 years, the workplace studio is positioned to strengthen our participation and activity in this market sector.
Our worship, education and community studio has brought together the talent and expertise of two firms through our recent merger with HBL Architects. The expanded studio is currently at work on over 25 campuses in a variety of projects.
