Axel Weisheit, AIA
Axel Weisheit attended Rice University, where he received his bachelor of arts in architecture and bachelor of architecture degrees. Prior to joining Ziegler Cooper (ZC), he worked at the firm of Richard Meier and Partners in Los Angeles.
In 2007, Axel joined ZC, where he quickly gained a reputation for his rigorous design aesthetic, attention to detail, and client focus. With more than ten years of experience in high-rise residential, commercial, retail, educational, and civic projects, Axel brings a diverse knowledge base to his work. Furthermore, while his primary focus is on design, Axel has in-depth experience through every phase of a project, from early programming on to construction administration. With this background, Axel is able to anticipate problems and find creative solutions for complex and challenging projects.
As Design Director in the Urban Residential Studio, Axel works closely with the client to create thoughtful design solutions that elegantly address the client’s unique requirements. He leads the design team from project inception to final construction, making sure the design intent is maintained throughout all stages of the project. Additionally, Axel utilizes his exceptional expertise in building architectural models to advance the project’s design and facilitate its visualization.
Outside of the office, Axel engages in high-performance driving events at such tracks as the Houston MSR and Texas World Speedway.
