Lakewood Methodist Church

Lakewood Methodist Church is a well-established Methodist church in Northwest Houston. Our task was to modify their existing Master Plan and establish an aggressive program for the addition of a Contemporary Worship space, recreational facilities, an Early Child Care complex, meeting rooms and a significant youth complex. The design solution was based on the architectural precedent set over as 30 year period. The design was heavily influenced by the desire to create a sense of community and provide for opportunities to meet/ greet and fellowship on a campus that was deficient in that regard. The use of a common thematic language of materials, textures and colors brought all of these diverse buildings into one cohesive and thoughtful spatial experience. The newest addition is a columbarium/meditation garden addition to the church´s sanctuary.
