Benchmark Bank

The Woodlands, TX

Benchmark Bank is a small Texas community bank established in 1964 with currently 6 branches Austin, Dallas and Plano. Looking to expand in the Houston area, they selected a new site in a retail section of Research Forest Lakeside in the Woodlands. The program required including both a retail bank and a mortgage bank in a 4,900 SF retail space meant sharing common restrooms, breakroom, a common community room and a conference room.

The finish palette was developed to include warm inviting materials - dark wood flooring, quartzite stone tops, earthy tone porcelain tile in the restrooms. The majority of the public area is a light-colored open plenum ceiling with glass pendants and floating wood grill clouds. There a number of LED light shelves illuminating the open plenum ceiling. A feature “penny” wall above the bar counter is prominent in the banking lobby. The common corridor between retail and mortgage are secured with oversized wood barn doors. There are also 2 drive-through lanes and an Avadeck canopy as part of the project.
