As First Baptist Church Pasadena grew, the need for expansion became evident, which included a new 2500-seat worship center. The western entry is graced by a campanile that sounds a welcome to the surrounding community. The design also established a substantial commons area to facilitate various church activities and connect the new worship center to the existing buildings.

The new chapel, the Senior Pastor’s vision, is a traditional basilica form featuring glue-laminated wood and stained glass. The pattern of the masonry establishes the character for the overall design and provides a strong form that scales the significant volume of the adjacent worship center.
