DesignHive
Houston, TX
Inspired by the design principals of Casa Giraldi in Mexico City, Ziegler Cooper’s 3,730 SF suite for DesignHive by Brookfield uses shades of paint to emphasize and accentuate the rhythm of the existing columns and punched windows. The playful space depicts the concept of “Assemblage,” which is a gathering of unrelated objects – most evident with the addition of a neon banana sign – in order to address the ever-changing variety of users in the modern work environment. The entry is a merging of both a reception space and a coffee bar to encourage casual collaboration and serve as a site for informal meetings. The suite also gives a nod to Houston with a light red color palette and use of dichroic glass, inspired by the look of refined fuel oil.
