Greenway Coffee

Houston, TX

The first coffee shop from owners David Buehrer and Ecky Prabanto in 2009 was in a small, 300 square foot retail space at Greenway Plaza. Sharing and communicating quality and relationships and sourcing and serving quality coffee is what this place is all about. Together with the help of Parkway Properties they relocated to a highly visible and more accessible location in the heart of Greenway Plaza HUB food and retail area. More than doubling their square footage, Ziegler Cooper reorganized the customer experience to provide an unparalleled coffee and tea experience that is open on all sides. The space is more community/customer focused than the prior location --and appropriate for multi-generational and multi-purpose gathering and working. This new coffee bar layout explores a live-edge walnut bar top and pairs it with crisp textural lines of painted metal angles that serve as a back drop to customer and creates a more community/customer-focused than the prior location. The assembly of simple textures brings richness and comfort to the space and keeps the interior atmosphere refined and light. Texture, pattern, and various materials are woven through the space along with varied service heights to encourage customer interaction. The curated furniture and fixture elements combine to form a unique take on the GW Coffee and Tea’s customer focus roots—a celebration of texture and materiality and locale that is consistent with the Eastman ethos of high quality, local ingredients. In addition to the typical lattes, cappuccinos, and drip coffees they have several hot tea selections and a small quick-serve food menu that is their new office-focused concept that doesn’t require an intense kitchen space to prepare.
