Originally built in the 1970's for the headquarters of Minute Maid, 2000 St. James Place was renovated last year to serve as the Western Hemisphere headquarters for Weatherford International's Houston Office.  Developed by Core Real Estate LLC, the 337,000-square-foot building now features granite, marble and mahogany in all common areas, a new front entrance, a new landscaped courtyard with a water feature, a full-service cafeteria, a full-service childcare facility for employees, new landscaping, a new health/workout facility and a new conferencing area with the latest A/V & Media equipment. The building was certified LEED Gold for the redevelopment, which used environmentally sensitive material and included new energy-efficient systems. Weatherford International initially moved 1,350 employees into the building, consolidating its main administration and executive functions.
